2011- An exceptional year for SIVECO Romania: we have signed 224 national and international contracts, increased our team by 50% and won 15 awards

The company forecasts a growth rate of 15% for 2012.

 

Bucharest, 10th of January 2012 – The year 2011 has meant for SIVECO Romania an increase of personnel by approximately 50%, signing 224 new internal and international contracts, and winning of 15 new awards.
The financial results have been in line with all these performance, while the company’s turnover has reached 67 million Euro, compared to 60 million in the previous year.

We have consolidated our presence on the international markets, where we are providing IT solutions and services both for private organizations and for public institutions. The continuous evolution has imposed increasing our team - currently we have 1,200 employees, and we can certainly tell that the best IT specialists in Romania are working for our company. This year we are celebrating 20 years of activity, 20 years since we are involved in complex, large scale projects, with millions of beneficiaries, 20 years since we are definitely contributing to reducing the digital gap in over 25 countries worldwide”, said Irina Socol, President and CEO of SIVECO Romania.

 

Here are the top 10 most important achievements of SIVECO Romania in 2011:

1. New contracts concluded with European Union institutions
Together with Sword Technologies Luxembourg, SIVECO has won the contract for ensuring software development and maintenance services for various IT applications necessary to the Publication Office of the European Union. This public institution publishes on a daily basis the Official Journal of the European Union in 23 languages, the Overall Activity Report of the Union, and has a key role in communicating its initiatives and activities.
SIVECO will also provide services for the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers, owner of the Dolceta portal. This is a project for online education of the consumers in the 27 EU countries.

2. The Computer Based Management System for Customs Transit operations in the Republic of Macedonia.
The project was launched in February 2011, and will be completed in February 2013. The National Customs Authority in Romania, as well as the Customs Authority in Turkey benefit from the functionalities of the eCustoms solution designed by SIVECO.

3. The Project for introducing IT into the education process in Oman.
During the school year 2010-2011, SIVECO has successfully developed the first phase of the project for introducing IT into the education process at the girls’ school in Muscat, Oman. SIVECO created the largest virtual library in Arabic language in the world, comprising over 7,000 interactive educational resources for Mathematics, Sciences, Arabic and local studies.

4. The electronic documents and workflows management system, SIVADOC, implemented at the City Hall in Kishinev.
The Kishinev City Hall and the district city halls in Kishinev are using the electronic documents and workflows management system provided by SIVECO Romania. With its help are implemented the international quality management standards, and the letters are electronically monitored, also the deadlines for execution of the provisions and decisions issued by the General Mayor’s and the Municipality Council of Kishinev.

5. Cloud technology for displaying the results of high schools admission
ADLIC, the software application dedicated to support the distribution of students in high schools, repeatedly awarded at European and global level has been ported to the cloud computing platform Microsoft Windows Azure. The solution has proved to be extremely efficient and stable, as the distribution process was carried out in an objective and transparent manner. With over 90 million page views in July 2011, the portal http://portal.edu.ro implemented by SIVECO Romania has ranked first in the overall top of the most visited web sites in Romania. This tremendous traffic was possible thanks to the extremely robust and high performing technical solution.
6. Business Intelligence System for the Customs Administration in Serbia.
In partnership with Assecco Group SEE Serbia, SIVECO is providing a complex Business Intelligence system for the Customs Administration in Serbia. The solution provides complete analyses for accelerating and facilitating customs procedures in Serbia. It is an important project for Serbia, as is preparing its accession to the European Union.

7. Projects financed through European funds
SIVECO has continued the development of the projects financed from European funds – Human Resources Development POSDRU, Increasing the Economic Competitiveness POSCCE, Environment Development POSMEDIU. Tens of thousands of users, beneficiaries of these projects have access to lifelong learning, in order to meet the challenges of the Information Society.

8. Continuation of the large projects in the fields of eCustoms, eHealth, eLearning, eAgriculture for the local customers of SIVECO: National Customs Authority, National Health Insurance House, Ministry of Education and the Payments and Intervention Agency for Agriculture.

9. The International Conference eduVision 2020.
In September 2011, SIVECO organized the first edition of the most important eLearning event: eduVision 2020. The event was attended by over 450 guests in Romania and countries on three continents, such as Oman, Egypt, Serbia, Malta, Azerbaijan, United Arab Emirates, China and Finland. The discussions focused on the needs of today’s education, adaptation to the knowledge, requirements and skills of the new generations of students. In this respect the initiative eduVision 2020 has been launched.
10. International and national awards, out of which we should mention:

• Winner of the competition of best management projects in the , for the New Computerized Transit System, a project developed in collaboration with the specialists of the National Customs Authority. The award has been granted within the competition organized by International Project Management Association (IPMA) in Brisbane,  Australia;
• “Finalist” diploma for the project developed at the National Health Insurance House -SIUI – awarded by IPMA;
• “Laureate 2011” in the category "Emerging Technology" for the performance of the IT solution implemented at the Payments and Intervention Agency for Agriculture, within the international competition Computerworld Honors Program, held in Washington, USA;
• European IT Excellence Awards 2011 for two successful projects:   SIVECO Applications 2011 at GRIRO and eCustoms at the National Customs Authority;
• The diploma of "Romanian Champion in Business" for 2011, within the event  "European Day of Competition and Competitiveness in Romania", developed under the patronage of the European Union Presidency;
• "The best entrepreneur in Europe, the Middle East and Africa" (Best entrepreneur in EMEA) for Irina Socol, President and CEO of SIVECO Romania, within the Stevie Awards competition, held in New York, USA;
• “Ruban d’Honeur” award within the prestigious competition European Business Awards, in which participated 280 companies from all the 27 EU Member States;
• "New European Champions", a trophy awarded to Irina Socol for innovation, vision, courage and involvement in international projects, from the European Forum for Entrepreneurship Research in collaboration with IESE Business School Barcelona and the Economic School in Warsaw;
• " Microsoft Partner of the year 2011", in the category "National Partners", for the performance proved by SIVECO in strategic partnerships with Microsoft Romania and for its business expertise;
• “Strategic Partner” for the development of quality software applications for education, the award granted within the program Microsoft National System Integrator, as recognition of innovation and  outstanding results of SIVECO.
 

Along with these achievements, mentioned here in brief, we can mention many others, all being very important in strengthening the status of IT regional leader for SIVECO Romania. Thus, the year 2011 meant re-certification in conformity to the standard ISO 9001:2008 edition, launching the company’s third Social Responsibility Report, receiving the status of Oracle Platinum Partner, participation in numerous international fairs: BETT London, The educational Fair „Road Signs” in Novi Sad, Gulf Education Supplies and Solutions – GESS din Dubai and Bakutel 2011 Azerbaijan, to name a few.
