Bucharest, 12th of July 2010 - Promotion of efficient managerial models in the context of decentralizing and increasing the capacity of understanding and operating with the new technologies used in the field of pneumology is the main objective of the project developed by the Romanian Society of Pneumology, as applicant, and Prof. Dr. "Marius Nasta" Pneumoftiziology Institute and SIVECO Romania SA, as partners.

The Project is addressed to a group of 50 managers of institutes, hospitals, pneumology sections, aiming at increasing the health management skills, through access to innovative professional training through eLearning type of instruments. Also the project is targeted to 800 physicians in the field of pneumology, in order to get a better adaptability on the labor market by participating to 8 training programs in the field and one program of introduction into IT&C.

The two institutions in the field will carry out the studies set in the project, the content of the 9 training programs, will select the course participants and will support the training activity.

SIVECO Romania will carry out the project's portal, the courses in multimedia format and the professional training programs for introduction into IT&C. The training platform will be provided free of charge for continuous and final licensing.

The professional training programs will be certified by CNFPA, while the certificates will be recognized at national level.

There is free and equal access to the training courses for all the members of the target group.

The Project "Quality in pneumology medical services through life long professional training and organizational flexibility" is developed under the Sectorial Operational Program for Human Resources Development 2007 - 2013 "Invest in people!"

About the Romanian Society of Pneumology
Having over 100 years of history, initially named the Society for Tuberculosis Prevention, the society has lived through many troublesome moments aimed at recognizing this specialty, and finally, in 1993, the Ministry of Health has approved the specialty's name as
Pneumoftiziology (Study of Tuberculosis) specialty, and since 2000 as Pneumology specialty, thus aligning to the European reference directory of specialties.

The Romanian Society of Pneumology has currently some 500 members (over 50% of the specialists in the country) and has organized so far 21 congresses.

The Society provides the pneumology physicians in Romania access to certified training programs of Lifelong Medical Education organizes national and international conferences and congresses on up-to-date topics in the field and provided its members access to quality information resources. Also, the applicant has a powerful involvement in the social life. Therefore, it exceeds its address to the targeted corps of pneumology professionals and organizes campaigns targeted to the broad audience, awareness campaigns regarding various aspects related to pneumology field affecting the population's health condition.

About "Marius Nasta" Pneumoftiziology Institute
The "Marius Nasta" National Pneumoftiziology Institute is among the tradition hospitals in Romania, its activity has started in 1906 when, under the name of "Spitalul Filaret", was erected the first hospital for tuberculosis in Bucharest.

Currently, proving the same interest to the field it also served once, the "Marius Nasta" National Pneumoftiziology Institute becomes the most important medical and research institution in the field of pneumoftiziology.

At the same time, is runs public information programs on topics related to its field of activity and has a good collaboration with similar institutions in the country and abroad.
