6th June, 2010, Bucharest - Professional training and promotion of using new technologies aiming to increase the adaptability of employees and managers from all levels in the electrical engineering field to the current labor market requirements is the main objective of the project developed by the Research & Development and Testing National Institute for Electrical Engineering - ICMET Craiova, as beneficiary, along with SIVECO Romania and the Romanian Electromagnetic Compatibility Association - ACER, as partners.

The project addressed to a group of 600 employees and managers from the electrical engineering industry, aims also, to improve the practical skills and the theoretical knowledge in using the most modern technologies, identifying the European models regarding the adaptability of workers and enterprises to the new technologies in the field of electrical engineering and using eLearning type of instruments for training.

SIVECO Romania will carry out the courses in multimedia format, the project's website and the professional training programs for introducing IT&C. The electronic training platform will be provided free of charge, through permanent and final licensing.

Acquiring information from these courses will lead to increasing quality of offered products and will bring efficiency and flexibility to the production activity. On the long term, the 11 courses organized (10 specialty ones and one ITC course) will contribute to increasing the level of competences of the staff in the electrical engineering field at national international level. The information technologies to be included in the training process by SIVECO Romania will play a vital role in this respect.

The lifelong professional training programs will be validated through CNFPA certificates having national recognition.

The project "Professional training and promoting the use of new technologies aiming to increase the adaptability of employees and managers from all levels of the electrical engineering field to the current requirements of the labor market" runs within the Sectorial Operational Program Human Resources Development 2007 - 2013 "Invest in people!".

About ICMET
The activity of the Research, Development and Testing National Institute for Electrical Engineering - ICMET was launched ever since 1974, through the development of the Research and Design Center hat has lead to the need for its organizing as an Institute within Electroputere Plant, under the name of "Research and Design Institute Electroputere" (ICP - EP), the most important producer in the field.

Since 1990, ICMET becomes an incorporated Institute, while from 1999, through Government Decision (H.G.) no. 81, it becomes the National Research, Development and Testing Institute for Electrical Engineering - ICMET.

During its over 35 years of activity, ICMET has gained an extended experience in the following: research, development and testing in high voltage, high power and low voltage, monitoring and diagnosis of electrical power equipments, measuring electrical and non- electrical quantities, power electronics, electromagnetic compatibility, industrial applications etc.
ICMET is national leader in research, development and testing in for high voltage and high power equipments, leader in research and development for the monitoring and diagnosis of electrical power equipments and in unconventional technologies using the effect of the vibratory stress relief, and unconventional technologies using the effect of the compressed - air at supersonic velocity.

ICMET It is the only manufacturer of force and mass measuring transducers and equipment for heavy industrial duty based on magnetoelastic strain gauging, the result of its own research within the interdisciplinary group CERTESMAG.

ICMET Craiova has currently almost 300 employees.
