Bucharest, 27th of March 2007 – The annual competition, created by SIVECO Romania in cooperation with the  Romanian Ministry of Education and Research, .Campion gathers young people whose innovative ideas greatly contribute to the software market development.

The contest aims at supporting the development of programming skills, stimulating the competition as well as developing the pupils’ full potential for performing an efficient activity in the future information society. The need for informatics and IT&C specialists is nowadays extremely acute.

Launched in 2003 as a national competition, .Campion developed into an international event in the fall of 2005.

In this way, .Campion Competition started to enjoy success and popularity abroad, and each year, attracts more and more competitors from the Balkan Region.

Bulgarian pupils showed their interest since the contest’s international debut, when the rate of participation was quite high.

Starting with 2006/2007 school year, a team of coordinating teachers was created, with the main objective of nationally promoting the competition.

Promoting .Campion by the means of the electronic journal, persuaded more than 180 new competitors to join the contest.

Young people form South-East and Central Europe prove to be extremely competitive in this field, and .Campion Competition supports them constantly in achieving remarkable performances”, declare prof. Radu Jugureanu, eContent Manager with SIVECO Romania.

This year the Bulgarian participants are expected to be very strong competitors, since they have the chance to prove their talent and show their full potential as IT&C specialists.

A recent study conducted in Bulgaria among 6th to 10th grade pupils and their teachers, showed that .Campion competition represents a real challenge for both categories involved.
