A success career depends only on the competence and involvement of each person

Bucharest, 6th of July 2011 - A successful career depends but on abnegation, competence and the involvement of every woman. This is the conclusion of the series of seminars "Equal opportunities for successful careers", developed by SIVECO Romania SA in partnership with MEDIAFAX and the Academy Economic Studies Bucharest, within the priority axis "Promotion of social inclusion", major field of intervention 6.3 "Promotion of equal opportunities on the labor market", developed in Bucharest, Craiova, Cluj, Timisoara, Iasi, Constanta and Ploiesti, and attended by some 600 career women, managers and human resources responsibles.

The current socio-economic context is favorable to development of one's own business, as over 80% of the participants have said that they were forced to become competitive due to the crisis installed in Romania at the end of 2008.

One of the obstacles in reaching the career goals has been gender discrimination, a subject long debated within the interactive events during the seminars. According to the saying of some 600 participants, each of them has had at least one experience in this respect. Education and traditions in the area have transformed these facts into taboo subjects that have burden and are still haunting the women's psyche all over the country, but according to what one of the participants says, a successful woman is strong enough to overcome such preconceptions.

During the seminars, the ladies, most of them career women or human resources responsibles have acknowledged that it is for the first time in their life when they talk openly over the fact that they have lived such experiences.

Another opportunity provided by the project SIVECO Romania and much appreciated by the participants has been the possibility to meet other businesswomen, with whom they have established useful business contacts for their own careers representing one of the rare occasions bringing together businesswomen from the areas where seminar have been organized so far, Bucharest, Craiova, Cluj, Timisoara, Iasi, Constanta and Ploiesti.

A new series of two seminars, within the same project will take place on 7th and 8th July in Brasov, and another seminar will take place in Bucharest on 14th of July.

The project is co-funded from the European Social Fund through the Sectorial Operational Program - Human Resources Development (POSDRU) and takes place in the period of 1st of September 2010 and 31st of August 2012.
