The ADLIC system developed by SIVECO was named "Best cloud project of public sector" by the EuroCloud Romania 2013 jury

ADLIC, one of the biggest cloud projects developed in Romania, was named winner in the first national edition of the EuroCloud Awards, in the "Best cloud project of public sector" category.

ADLIC is the IT system developed by SIVECO and used nationwide since 2001 by the Ministry of National Education for the computerized distribution of candidates into high-schools and vocational schools, in accordance with the implemented methodology.

Since 2011, the ADLIC system has been running on the Windows Azure cloud computing platform, which ensures, due to its calculation power and allocated bandwidth, continuous availability during high demand periods.

Having available practically unlimited processing power, due to the Windows Azure platform, SIVECO Romania accomplished the implementation of the results website http://admitere.edu.ro as a dynamic platform, able to respond quickly even when simultaneously accessed by tens of thousands of users.

"After 13 years during which we provided the platform for computerized distribution of candidates into high-schools, and after 3 years in which these services were supported by the Windows Azure cloud platform, we are very glad we can technically support a transparent and objective distribution system that 145.000 pupils passing their national exams can benefit from. The Windows Azure cloud platform solved all the performance and capacity issues in the system, offering us the necessary time to focus on developing complex reports to satisfy all the information requirements coming from students and parents, as well as from the Ministry of Education", stated Florin Ilia, Vice-president SIVECO Romania.

This distinction granted to the ADLIC project will allow it to further participate, on a European level, in the EuroCloud Europa competition, alongside national winners from member countries of the EuroCoud network.

"The quality and diversity of the entries we received demonstrate the dynamism and potential of the Romanian cloud computing market. We are glad to represent Romania, for the first time, in the European EuroCloud competition with strong local solutions and world-class cloud implementations," stated Elena Zvarici, President EuroCloud Romania.
