European Platform on Mobility Management awards the mobility plan for SIVECO Romania employees

The negative effects of urban transport over the environment can be diminished by rational transport.

Bucharest, 19 May 2009 - SIVECO Romania receives from EPOMM - European Platform of Mobility Management - under the Commerce (Creating Optimal Mobility Measures to Enable Reduced Commuter Emissions) a distinguish Honor: Special Jury Prize. The prize was awarded for developing a successful travel plan for employees. The ceremony Pan European Workplace Mobility Plan Awards held during May 13-15 2009 in San Sebastian, Spain.

The mobility plan has the main goals reducing employee stress by providing shuttle transportion for work and care environment through this sustainable transport system. SIVECO Romania is partner in this project with RATB (the surface public transport operator) and Bucharest Chamber of Commerce.

EPOMM in partnership with COMMERCE organizes the annual Conference of European Mobility Management - ECOMM and awards in recognition of the essential role of mobility plans to reduce CO2 emissions, the traffic congestion and other negative effects of transport on environment.

This project funded by the European Commission through the Intelligent Energy Europe have partners London, Paris, Budapest, Kaunas, Plovdiv and Bucharest cities.

The high level of carbon dioxide concentration have a negative impact on quality of life for those living in cities. The COMMERCE Plans Travel to/from Work sets standards for EU Plans Travel to/from Work and promotes through the creation of an European Platform for Travel Plans and a pan-European competition on the promotion of Travel Plans in 6 cities in the consortium COMMERCE through a program supported by the recruitment of staff and training for municipalities; standardization Plans Travel to/from Work already in London and Paris and a Forum Travel Plans during 3 years in 4 countries of the EU.
