Great voices for the benefit of children with AIDS

Wednesday, June 26, 2002

Bucharest, 26th June 2002 - Initiated by EVENTS in association with several sponsors, a unique concert will take place on 6th July 2002 at the Roman Arenas in Bucharest - a famous opera, La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi, on an open stage.

The exceptional distribution makes the event a very special one for Bucharest cultural life: Felicia Filip, Massimiliano Drappelo (Italy) and Valentin Marele.

The opera, directed by Cristian Mihăilescu, will be accompanied by Braşov Opera Choir Orchestra and will be conducted by Petre Sbârcea.

At its ten-year anniversary SIVECO Romania decided to support the organization of this extraordinary event, mainly due to its noble purpose: 10% of the amounts donated by the opera sponsors will be donated to "Nicolae Bălcescu" association, which takes care of children with AIDS.

This sponsorship is part of a series of humanitarian actions by which SIVECO Romania contributes to the community life - it is well known that any large company has an honour duty to return a part of its work results to the community it is part of.

"Generous intentions have always united people", declares Irina Socol, General Manager, SIVECO Romania. "We are extremely honoured to support personalities such as Felicia Filip, a wonderful artist and a special person, both in happy moments for us, such as company anniversary, and moments when we can contribute to other people happiness or at least make less unhappy children suffering of this terrible disease. We hope that the emotion of the audience to participate in these exceptional artistic moments will contribute to funds collection in the benefit of these children - and reach thus the main goal of this event.
