The European project "Equal opportunities for successful careers", funded by the Sectoral Operational Program Human Resources Development 2007 - 2013, Priority Axis 6 - "Promoting social inclusion", Key Area of Intervention 6.3 - "Promoting equal opportunities on the labor market" has ended.

In the closing conference held today at the Academy of Economic Studies of Bucharest, representative of the project talked about the activities and the results, also about the goals that the project team aims to achieve during the time of sustainability.

The project started in September 2010 and had as overall objective increasing of employment opportunities for women and equal access to employment by raising awareness of equal opportunities in private enterprises.

Over 1,000 women were instructed for the 5 training programs of which more than 98,27% achieved certifications. Of these 84 women from Bucharest - Ilfov attended the training course "Input, processing and validation data operator", authorized by the National Qualifications Authority and 100% of the participants in this course have been certified.

In May 2011 was the official launch of the Guide regarding the integration of gender equality into businesses" policies comprising legislative analysis, working/labor tools, examples of best practices developed at national and international level in order to ensure equal opportunities. The guide is also a tool for human resources departments of the Romanian companies to ensure equal chances. It was published in 5,000 copies being distributed to enterprises, Chambers of Commerce and Industry and to social partners in each region.

In the 16 workshops held in each of the eight development regions, were involved women - human resource managers and women with a decision-making position in enterprises and were debated the issue of equal opportunities and the tools to ensure it proposed in the guide. They discussed topics such as the development of a successful career for women, flexible working hours for women, maternity and related rights, the prevention and combat of sexual harassment at work. That lead to increasing self-confidence in women.

There were eight conferences to launch the promoting campaign of women’s success stories and the book "Career – a feminine noun" that contains stories of 32 successful women, published and distributed in 4,000 copies.

The visibility, transparency, information and promotion of this project were permanently provided through the portal, part of the project: www.carierepentrufemei.ro.
