Children learn easier with interactive exercises, games, animations and movies

Litera Publishing House and SIVECO Romania provided two textbooks for the first grade, both in printed and digital versions: Romanian Language and Communication manual (ABC) and Mathematics and Environment Exploring manuals.

Teachers can select manuals they want to use in the new school year, by accessing www.manuale.edu.ro, the web platform of the Ministry of National Education. Requests for new manuals will be made ​​online by schools, so that they arrive at school in time for the beginning of the school year.

"Richly illustrated textbooks were developed in accordance with the curriculum. They are divided in 12 learning units, with assignments appropriate to the child’s universe," said Marin Vidrașcu, CEO for Litera Publishing. The attraction is given by the digital component of the new textbooks. 

"The new digital textbooks that we provided to the teachers will enhance the educational value of classroom activities, through their interactive approach. Digital textbooks support the classic manuals for the challenge children to play and learn, but they come with well-defined teaching objectives, they encouraging kids to explore, discover, work together and sustain their ideas convincingly. We hope that both teachers and students will find the new textbooks useful and interesting", said Florin Ilia, Vicepresident, SIVECO Romania, responsible for the project "ManualPLUSDigital" (www.manualPLUSdigital.ro).

Psychologists, academic learning specialists, IT specialists, web designers, editors contributed to the the design of the new digital and printed textbooks. The content was developed by authors with extensive experience in developing curricula and textbooks for primary education: Gabriela Barbulescu, Daniela Beşliu, Elena Niculae, Florentina Chifu.

Litera Publishing House opened a Hotline 0800-110222 call center service, which will provide all interested parties information on textbooks and auxiliary materials. Throughout the entire school year a new online platform called Modern Teachers Club will operate on www.manualPLUSdigital.ro and on https://www.facebook.com/manualPLUSdigital. This will be a virtual meeting point for the teachers, the authors of textbooks and the students' parents. By joining the club, teachers will receive free support for using digital media, available from Monday to Friday, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., and they will have the opportunity to engage a dialogue with a specialist regarding the use of the digital manuals through online chat sessions.

The new books (in both printed and digital format) will replace existing textbooks to date. Romania is among the first European countries implementing digital textbooks.
