SIVECO Romania has run a pilot project introducing IT into the educational process at the Thuraya Al Busaeediya Girls School in Muscat

Bucharest, 02nd of May, 2011 - The project was implemented during the 2010-2011 academic year and has ended through an open lesson attended by officials of the Ministry of Education (MoE), representatives of SIVECO Romania, as well as teachers and students from the Grades 5 to 10 of the school.

The digital AeL eContent lessons include experiments, simulations, animations and videos, in Arabic, aimed at developing the natural pupils' curiosity and to provide them with an attractive learning environment. By means of AeL eContent, the Omani teachers can transform the class into a pleasant, unique experience, in a virtual secured environment giving pupils the possibility to experiment with natural phenomena and to discover the world around, even in the classroom.

"We are proud to have supported the Ministry of Education in Oman with this implementation, which we hope will form the basis for a larger scale project, covering all the schools in the country. SIVECO Romania currently holds the most comprehensive virtual library in Arabic in the world, comprising of over 7,000 interactive educational resources for mathematics, sciences, Arabic language and patriotic studies on the Emirates," said Alexandru Coşbuc, Deputy Vice-president, International Sales, SIVECO Romania.

The project has implied translation, localising and mapping on the local curricula of 120 interactive learning objects for mathematics, physics, biology and chemistry, installation of the AeL system, as well as training of 25 teachers in optimal use of the implemented instruments. The teachers have been rewarded with diplomas of participation and have been certified in using the AeL applications.
