The International Project Management Association Gala is hosted by Brisbane, in Australia

Bucharest, 10th of October 2011 - The project New Computerized Transit System (NCTS), developed by SIVECO Romania in collaboration with the specialists of the National Customs Authority, has entered the race of the best projects in the world, receiving the Finalist title. The awarding gala takes place during the 25th Congress of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) organized during 10-12 October in Brisbane, Australia.

True Oscars for Excellence in Project Management, the International Project Management Association (IPMA) awards are granted in three: Mega-sized Project, Big-Sized Projects and Medium-Sized Projects.

The NCTS project competes in the category "medium size projects", being the favored one in this category.

The evaluation of the NCTS project was performed by an international jury on 18th of September 2011 in Berlin, and resulted in placing the project carried out for the customs in Romania among the competition's Finalists.

"This nomination represents an outstanding achievement confirming our company?s capacity in developing large scale projects which can be anytime replicated. In fact, the NTSC solution has been implemented also at the customs administration from Turkey and Macedonia", has stated Irina Socol, President and CEO SIVECO Romania.

NCTS is a Trans-European management and control system of transit operations for the goods carried over the rail transport. Based on using advanced calculus systems and on electronic data processing, this ensures increasing the efficiency of transit procedures, improvement of prevention, and fraud detection, accelerating and securing the operations developed within the transit procedures, improvement of communication between the customs administrations, on one hand, and between customs administrations and economic agents, on the other hand.

"The eCustoms solution of SIVECO Romania contributes to the implementation of safe, integrated, customs IT systems, interoperable and accessible for electronic exchange of data contained in the customs declarations, providing , at the same time for economic agents, multiple technical solutions regarding the electronic exchange of information with the customs authorities and a greater flexibility in submitting the customs declarations", has stated Dan Tuhar, Manager within SIVECO Romania.

SIVECO Romania enters for the fifth time in a row in the international final of the companies with the best projects in the world. In 2007, the IT-based Education System was selected in the Grand IPMA Gala. In 2009, the solution developed by SIVECO Romania for the It system operating at the Payments and Intervention Agency for Agriculture has received the Finalist trophy. In 2010, two components of the project Knowledge Based Economy, the portal eComunitate (www.ecomunitate.ro) and the Program of ITC training in schools and business have received the finalist status.

IPMA is the most respected authority in project management, while the international jury endorsing the annual IPMA Gala Awards competition being wellknown for its professionalism and exigency. This year, the IPMA competition is celebrating its 25th anniversary (edition).
