Romanian Educational IT-Based strategy - an example for South-Estern Europe

Bucharest, 14th of December 2005 - Recently, in Croatia, ERI SEE (Education Reform Initiative South East Europe) organized the "The Role of Teachers and Teacher Training in ICT" Seminar, event, which gathered together experts, representative from private sector and the Ministries of Education of  Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Romania.

Romanian delegation comprising representatives of the Ministry of Education and Research and members of SIVECO Romania’s team presented SEI Program and AeL lessons, the Romanian experience in eLearning being very much appreciated.

“On this occasion numerous common subjects of interest were approached, we established new contacts, but it was also an excellent occasion to promote Romanian solutions and project in educational domain. SEI project - a real success story of a public-private partnership- was very appreciated by all the participants, who acknowledged the progress of the educational reform in Romania, today the most advanced in South-Eastern Europe. Romanian eLearning solution are an example to follow” says Radu Gramatovici, Project Coordinator, within SIVECO Romania.

Besides the theme of the seminar, the participants also discussed the present situation regarding the use of IT instruments in education, in the region, the strategies regarding IT implementation in education and about the components suitable for every strategy. SIVECO Romania’s representative emphasized the necessity to promote efficient regional cooperation by disseminating the results and products in educational domain and underlined the importance of partnerships between public and private areas. 

“SEI and Romanian e-content success is a confirmation of their value and open new opportunities for partnerships. The recent successes obtained by our eLearning solutions: wining World Summit Award and AeL platform nomination for the “eEurope Awards for eGovernment” trigger a recognition of business and research of Europeans toward a new status of Romania, that of an important eLearning producer”, says Radu Gramatovici.
