The selection criteria in the training programs organized within the project "Extending IT competences in the pre-university education - efficient use of IT laboratories"

As of 23rd of March 2011, once the project website has been launched, www.competente-it.ro, the candidates have the possibility to pre-register online at the training programs, by filling in a form to be found on the project site.

The learner's profile is defined through the following selection criteria:
• To belong to the teaching staff or ancillary staff from the lower secondary education (vocational schools), higher secondary (colleges, school groups, high schools, seminaries) and non-tertiary post-secondary education (post-high schools);
• To have computer skills;
• To be interested in the field pf administering computer networks;
• To prove initiative spirit.

The selection of course participants will be done at count y level, by selecting an average of 3 persons per each teaching unit, according to uniform selection criteria enumerated and of the experience in the field, while respecting the project indicators.

Thus, we are reminding that the project target group is formed of:
• 4,278 members of the teaching staff and ancillary staff out of which

[b4] At least 210 persons from the rural area.

Among the concrete benefits of participating in the training courses:
• For the learners...
[b4] 25 transferable professional credits for the over 4,200 initial students
[b4] 15 transferable professional credits for the 84 students subsequently selected, out of the over 4,200 initial students
[b4] The possibility to acquire professional skills in a new job, namely computer network administrator, in an expanding field on the labor market and important for the knowledge based society
[b4] The learners possibility to complete the school norm and not leave the education system
[b4] Possibility for integration in a equitable social system social.
For the education system in general...
[b4] Possibility of extending the use of Information Technology and Communication (TIC) in schools
[b4] Using at maximal capacity (using e-learning platforms, developing lessons on these platforms, software development etc.) the IT laboratories the high schools in Romania have been endowed with by means of the IT-based Education System (S.E.I.)
[b4] Improving the lifelong training system of the teaching staff and ancillary staff in high schools and their empowerment both in the sense of acquiring the skills necessary for new jobs in the education system, as well as in the sense of expressing an up-to-date quality educational offer;
[b4] The training program developed within the project, including the software applications, remain at the disposal of the education system also after the project completion
[b4] The teaching material and the manner of program implementation can constitute a basic model, in order to multiply the approach for the entire teaching staff and ancillary staff responsible for management of IT laboratories, but also for other staff categories from the education / other activity sectors.

When determining the project target group, as well as at project elaboration and implementation, have been and are promoted equal opportunities, non-discrimination and social inclusion.

Each teaching staff and ancillary staff selected to participate in the training program developed within the project will receive an email by which he/she will be notified on his/her admission in the training program, and subsequently will fill in, in original copy, the following documents:
• Application form
• Individual registration form of the target group
• Declaration regarding processing of personal data.

These three documents, along with:
• Copy of the graduation diploma, certificate etc. wherefrom it should result that the applicant has computer skills (by computer skills one means in this case using the Internet environment and the applications in the package Microsoft Office)
• Copy of Identity card (CI/BI)
• Copy of study diploma from the last education institution graduated, certifying the specialty
• Copy of marriage certificate or other documents regarding change of name (if appropriate)
• Certificate from the hiring institution wherefrom it results the function (position) specialty and norm /terms of employment constitute the candidate's personal file and will be submitted at the level of each county, at an address to be subsequently communicated on the project web site. The trainer selected at the level of each county is responsible for receipt and validation of these files.

Admission within the training programs is carried out based on the analysis of the registration file, based on the set criteria and within the available places.
