Bucharest, 11th of November 2005 - At the National Commission of Romania for UNESCO headquarters, within an event where participated officials, cultural personalities, journalists, school friends, were awarded the prizes of the second edition of Education Press Awards, competition organized together with the Foundation for Stimulating Technical and Scientific Creations and with the help of SIVECO Romania.  

The winners of this edition are:

1. TELEVISION

Adrian Bănuţă, from TVR  - TVR Cultural for " Citeşte cu mine ", " Corect " and cultural investigations " Capidava, satul suspendat în timp", " Refugiaţii din fundul Galaţiului” and " Şcoala cu şase elevi”

2. RADIO

Elena Petrescu and Maria Stana from Radio Romania Cultural, initiation section, for the project "Scoala pe ulita"

3. WRITTEN PRESS

Dan Lupescu, from Pro Europa "Lamura" Cultural Association, for "Lamura" magazine collection and "Lamura" collages in written press

Melania Mandas Vergu, Gândul, for the articles in the written press and the educational addendum

4. BOOK , GRAPHICS, FILM

Stefan Marinescu, from "Placeba" and Euro Generation Club Videle, for " Parteneriate educationale comunitare” works, " Romanul adolescentului clar vazator”, "Un comando in imperiul fizicii” and " O filiera educationala neolationa in Dublin".

SIVECO Romania gave 4.000 de euro in awards at all sections.

"This event aims to encourage two special professional categories, where very few journalists activate - because it’s a lot easier to write or do shows about politics and football - unfortunately- than about science, technology and education. Thank you to SIVECO Romania for making this rewards possible for education journalists", declared Alexandru Mironov, the Chairman of the jury.

Taking into account the future adhesion to the European Union, Romanian educational system needs to align to the European standards, regarding school program content as well as the manner of involvement in the teaching, learning process -computers, information technology in particular plays today a catalyst role.

In educational projects domain, the expertise and enthusiasm of SIVECO Romania’s specialists made possible real pioneer actions. AeL eLearning Platform, chose by the Ministry of Education and Research to be the backbone of IT-Based Educational System, offering access to the latest technology of 21st century to all pupils in Romania.

Thus, over 750.000 pupils and teachers have access to quality educational materials, awarded and praised at international level. Recently, AeL lessons received the World Summit Award at eLearning section, placing Romania among the world elites for using IT&C instruments in education.
