SIVECO Romania awarded the winners of the .campion informatics competition

Galati, 28th of May 2007 Recently, Galati welcomed the young pupils with a passion for informatics who qualified for the .campion finals, and their coordinating teachers. The .campion project supported by SIVECO Virtual Center for Excellency is a training program for performance in computer science, supported by well-known teachers and brilliant students, former winners of International Informatics Olympiads.

This year more than 60 pupils from Romania, Bulgaria and The Republic of Moldova attended the finals. Every year the occupants of the first places in each of the three groups are invited to the final round. The pupils present in Galaţi had the highest scores after the closing of the 12 online rounds.

The future knowledge society needs more and more specialists in IT&C. SIVECO Romania, one of the most important providers and software integrators of eSolutions in Romania, supports the .campion competition with the intention of encouraging the development of talented young people who deserve a fair chance of achieving future performances in informatics” declared Radu Jugureanu, eContent Manager and the coordinator of the .campion project.

Being actively involved in training and promoting future specialist in IT&C, SIVECO Romania rewarded the winners with multimedia products.

The following pupils received the first prize:

  • Bogdan Stelian Casu-Pop, Unirea National College, Focsani, small group 
  • Vlad Duta, Mircea cel Batran National College, Ramnicu Valcea, medium group
  • Iskren Chernev, Bulgaria, large group

The second place was occupied by:

  • Victor Ionescu - Nichita Stanescu High school, Ploiesti, small group
  • Ovidiu Cotlet - Scoala Crestina Filadelfia, Suceava, medium group
  • Rostislav Rumenov, Bulgaria, large group

 On the third place were:

  • Stefan Radu Voroneanu, Mihai Viteazul High school, Ploiesti small group
  • Cosmin Gheorghe and Alexandru Tandrau, International Informatics High school, Bucharest, medium and large group

The great performances achieved by the Romanian pupils in national and international informatics competitions, were once again confirmed in the 2007 .campion competition, since the valuable competitors offered original and innovative solutions for the very difficult problems they had to solve.

The quality of the problems was confirmed by the fact that the Bulgarian representatives used them to train their national team for the participation in the international informatics Olympics.
