SIVECO Romania promotes excellence in education and research

300 participants from 25 countries on 3 continents have attended the most academic event of the year, the National Conference for Virtual Education

Bucharest, 01 November 2011 - During the 28-29 October has taken place in Cluj-Napoca the IX edition of the National Conference of Virtual Education (CNIV 2011 - www.cniv.ro) and VI edition Conference International Virtual Education (ICVL 2011 - www.icvl.eu).

The initiatives are addressed to all representatives from the international academic milieu and aims to promote the good practices and excellence in the field of education and research. Both events were organized by the Bucharest University, University Babeş-Bolyai in Cluj-Napoca, SIVECO Romania, the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports through the National Authority for Scientific Research, Center for Innovation in Education (TEHNE) and Intel.

"The CNIV and ICVL projects tend to become research and training schools, having as objectives promoting and implementing modern ideas in the initial education and in life-long training, promoting working spirit and team research, attracting and including youth in the research and development programs, promoting and implementing of modern technologies in education, research and life-long training", has stated the projects' coordinator, conf. dr. Marin Vlada, Bucharest University.

Among the projects selected for presentation were "RENOVA - know-how transfer for the medical staff throughout Europe to develop the professional abilities as manager", the "Multi-touch" Project, the development of trans-disciplinary lessons in the Romanian education system", "The teacher - creator of educational software", "Complexity of IT projects in Education", "Intel-Teach - Training in the Knowledge Society" and the eduVision 2020 Conference (www.eduvision.ro).

SIVECO Romania was represented by Ştefan Morcov and Mihaela Coman, with papers on the topic of carrying out IT projects in education and training.

The event has included organizing a competition for educational software and two exhibitions of educational software and workshops eTwinning. The most successful presentations published also in the Book CNIV, after receiving the score from the 350 CNIV evaluators, will be awarded by SIVECO Romania within its program of supporting excellence in education and promoting young talents.

The volumes of the ICVL and CNIV conferences were published by the Publishing House of Bucharest University and have included 85, and 54 papers, respectively, proposed by authors from 14 countries on 4 continents in Europe, Asia and Africa.

The participants were representatives of prestigious education and research institutions: Bucharest University, Babeş-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca, Technical University "Gheorghe Asachi" Iaşi, University Ovidius Constanţa, State University of Moldova, Eastern Mediterranean University Cyprus, Universitat Politecnica deT Valencia-Spain, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering from Beograd Serbia, University of Debrecen Hungary, Amirkabir University of Technology from Tehran Iran, Université Européenne de Bretagne France, Constantine the Philosopher University din Nitra Slovakia.
