SIVECO Romania provides IT services for the European Commission

SIVECO Romania will provide software development and maintenance services for the European Union's research portal - CORDIS

Bucharest, September 28th 2009 - Over 3 million pages viewed and up to 500,000 documents downloaded each month - this is the dimension of the European research website CORDIS (Community Research and Development Information Service), for which SIVECO Romania will provide software development and maintenance services.

By winning the tender organized by the Publications Office of the European Union, SIVECO Romania reconfirms its pioneer quality for Romanian software field. This is the most important project of IT services so far, developed by a Romanian company for the European Commission.

The consortium formed of SIVECO Romania, Reggiani from Italy and Artemis from Luxemburg will provide software development and maintenance services for a period of up to 4 years through 2 framework contracts. The budget for the mentioned activities as per Contract Notice 2008/S 242-321376 published in the Official Journal of 12/12/2008 was 7.8 million euro.

CORDIS is the gateway to the European research and development framework programmes. Its mission is to facilitate participation in European Research activities, to be the official source of information on calls for proposals for FP7 Framework Programme, to enhance exploitation of research results with an emphasis on sectors crucial to Europe's competitiveness and to promote the dissemination of knowledge fostering the innovation performance of enterprise and the societal acceptance of new technology.

In the performance of these contracts, SIVECO Romania will rely on its experience of more than 18 years in projects implemented in the areas of eGovernment and eBusiness, education, health and customs, for public or private organizations in Germany, Belgium, France, USA, Cyprus, United Arab Emirates, Moldova, Morocco, Azerbaijan, Lebanon, Bulgaria, Turkey and Italy.
