This year, the company SIVECO has offset compensated its carbon print by supporting an Aeolian energy project in Romania. After calculating and reporting the GES emissions (glasshouse effect gases) afferent to its operational activity, SIVECO has taken the next step towards a full environmental responsibility policy.

SIVECO reconfirms its statute of road opener (pioneer), including in the field of responsibility towards the environment, carrying out, this year, the first project for compensating the carbon print. By acquiring credits in view of compensating the carbon print, we wish to give an example of approach for the organizations wishing to get involved in supporting the renewable energy projects in Romania”, declares Florin Ilia, President of SIVECO Romania.

The project wherefrom the carbon credits purchased by SIVECO come from is called Topolog Wind Power (http://csgstandard.com/en/topolog-wind-power-project-romania), placed in Tulcea County.

Topolog Wind Power is the first Romanian project, which, by means of a local standard, generates an average of 594 carbon credits/ year. All the energy produced is sent to the National Electric Power Grid in Romania.

The project “Calculate and compensate your carbon print”, initiated by the Association ZeroCO2, aims at increasing the public level of informing regarding green projects’ funding, by compensating the carbon print and promoting the responsibility towards the environment within companies. From our point of view, only by protecting and preserving the environment we are living in, cane we ensure a sustainable future. We are happy to notice that our partner SIVECO shares the same vision regarding responsibility towards the environment and together we can apply the good global practices in Romania too“, states Roxana Constantin, Project Manager at ZeroCO2 Association.
