Bucharest, June 13th  - Finalists in SIVECO CUP put an end to their anxieties in Poiana Pinului Camp: for the first time in three years of competition, the most wanted trophy in educational software goes outside Bucharest. Sibiu and Ramnicu Valcea are the two cities where this year winners come from, making up the first finalist with members residing in two different locations.

Alexandru Popa, Marius Bratu and Andrei Basangiu, three pupils who are about to take the Baccalaureate exam, and their coordinators Corina Graţiela Hăloiu and Adina Stănculescu from “Grup Şcolar Industrial Energetic Rm. Valcea”, and "Gheorghe Lazăr" Sibiu National College proved they can build up a powerful team and a valuable project working at a distance.

"The jury was taken by surprise by the mixed team when they saw it qualified for the final. We hadn’t met such situations before and we were wondering how they produced such a valuable piece of work communicating almost exclusively via Internet”, says Radu Jugureanu, eContent Manager within SIVECO Romania.

The winner was closely followed by Grigore Moisil Computer Science High School (Iasi) team; “Moisil” high school is a champion when it comes to number of works qualified for the final (4), even more than Bucharest (3).

"All of us, the participants in this true fiesta of the highest quality Romanian educational software are winners. But the real winners are the 20 teams: 19 finalists (pupils and teachers) and the organizing team.
The real close quality of the works made the Jury’s mission a tough one, but the first and the second ranked teams impose themselves, while the differences between them was almost invisible.

Congratulations to the winners, who proved the real meaning of professional competence, team work, talent and imagination”, says Radu Tăbârcă , a teacher in the Infobyte Club (Dambovita)
