True modernization of public institutions in Romania cannot be done unless these structures are connected to performant IT systems.

Unfortunately, lack of infrastructure and IT applications to the mayors of small towns and villages, non-integrated applications that lead to redundant data operation, lack of funding to provide co-financing for EU projects prevent real modernization of these institutions that are in service to taxpayers.

According to a survey made by SIVECO Romania at the General Assembly of Associations of Villages in Romania, including the mayors of 25 counties, the need for computerization is very high in cities with up to 14,000 inhabitants, most solutions are required to collect data on households Population - Agricultural Register, fees and local taxes management, applications that meet functionality for contract management, document management, fixed assets and financial accounting.

The same survey showed that 92% of mayors are equipped with 1 to 20 computers, 8% were between 21 and 40 computers and 4% between 41 and 60.

The mayors asserted that real modernization of public institutions in Romania cannot be achieved in the absence of connecting these structures to IT systems performance.
