An answer could be: the more increased dependence on IT technologies that can propel development. On what is based this answer?
In the European Union one speaks very often and very seriously of the importance of programs for research and technological development and of funds allocated to this field. From the talk of European experts to the deeds of Romanian IT specialists the road is short and full of results.
A relevant example is our company that develops several projects financed from European funds, projects aiming to become useful tools for physicians, teachers, pupils, students, lawyers, consumers of public services, employees.
Monica Florea, Manager for European Projects, said: "The projects we are working at, in partnership with prestigious organization from Europe, help educational institutions to adapt their offer to the real demand of the labour market, by using the latest technologies, and at the same time, to prepare the students for the information society. Also, projects in the field of medical research bring new hopes to patients, while the porjects in the professional training area incerase employees' competencies and eliminate linguistic barriers".
Among the most important projects of this kind is P.CEZANNE project, which helps the diabetes patients, through developing of a nano-sensor for continuous and long term monitoring of the glucose level in the blood.
The mission of another important project from the medical field, Eurocancercoms is the study of problems related to communication and dissemination infomation within the European community from the research sector, and cancer treatment respectively; its purpose is proposing solutions (including technological ones) for the remedy of these problems.
The ACGT - Advancing Clinic -Genomics Trials on Cancer project is addressed to physicians and researchers in the bio-information field, but also to software developers, through building of a services platform that can be supplied to practitioners in the field.
"These projects allow the translation of researchers' discoveries, fro the lab, to the clinical area, in order to be used by the practitioners involved in clinical trials, and mutually, they allow using in research of data accumulated during the devellopment of clinical studies", added Monica Florea.
In the educational field, the ASPECT Project (Adopting Standards and Specifications for Educational Content) will enrich the digital educational content through adoption of a new standard for management of digital educational resources that will be more flexible and more accessible for a number as large as possible of users.
Another valuable project is EduTubePlus, which offers pupils a new concept for lessons' presentations, based on an European multicultural library with educational video products and on an online platform for the publishing, loading echange and management of video materials.
The eMulticult project proposes a new method for easier learning of aforeign language, by creating of a virtual learning environment, based on the understanding and familiarizing with the cultural context of the respective country.
Thanks to the PAELIS project, the students and teachers will have access to an de eLearning portal that facilitates the know-how transfer in order to bring added value to the educational proces, which thus becomes more flexible and more efficient.
Technologies that, maybe, we do not forsee yet today, will improve our quality of life. And the Romanian researcher are accelerating the future.
