We all agree that the school curricula has to be improved, that pupils need to be helped to develop skills that will be useful for them on the labour market, that teaching math, physics and chemistry has to be based on visual and intuitive representations, not on excessive formalization and generalization.
All these ideas are included in the report "School's exit from mediocrity - How do we define the key competencies and the challenges of changing school curricula", produced by the Romanian Academic Society in Romania along with its partners and support from SIVECO Romania.
The report proposes to the Ministry of Education a high performance education system that would deliver the competencies necessary for the development of society as a whole and to foster pupils' individual skills.
